World history teacher Suzanne Vogt is going to Bosnia and Albania this summer. She was selected to participate in the Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad “Balkan Borderlands” curriculum development program. The program is with the University of Arizona Center for Middle Eastern Studies. Vogt will be one of 16 educators on the trip, including seven high school teachers and seven community college faculty. The abroad program will be May 28-June 26. The group will go to 12 different cities in Bosnia and Albania. Vogt will be asked to create an extended lesson plan or curriculum materials based on her learning during the program, and to incorporate material on the Bosnian language into the curriculum.
Vogt is an Advanced Placement teacher, National Board Certified and an Arizona Master teacher.
