Welcome to North High School where all students can achieve a quality education. North High was originally established as a public school in 1939 and has a long history of academic excellence. We became an IB World School in 1985.
Students at North have many opportunities to achieve a well-rounded education, including participating in Student Government, MAP (Mustang Achievement Program), Pathway to Success, Achievement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), culinary, visual and performing arts, JROTC, and a full, competitive sports program at the freshman, junior varsity and varsity levels.
North is a safe environment, both on campus and in the surrounding Coronado Historic District community. The campus has a college-like ambiance. North has culturally and socially diverse students and staff; the atmosphere at North goes beyond tolerance to acceptance and appreciation. Students and staff alike contribute to an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere while maintaining the primary focus of student achievement with a wide array of educational experiences.
