About South

  • Experience High School @ South Mountain

South Mountain High School is the first and oldest high school in the South Mountain community, educating students since 1954.  It is also home to five magnet programs—Aviation and Aerospace Education; Law Studies; Performing Arts (dance, music and theatre); Visual Arts and Communication Arts.  We have our own art gallery, court room, radio station and simulated Air Traffic Control tower, as well as one of the largest and well-equipped auditoriums in the state.  We also have a full academic curriculum - including Advanced Placement, and Honors  classes, as well as evening school.

South Mountain is a Kids at Hope school which means we are committed to the belief that all youth are capable of success, NO EXCEPTIONS! In order to make that vision a reality, we aspire to ensure that all adults are treasure hunters and every youth is a time traveler. Treasure hunters search for the skills, talents and intelligences in all children/youth. Time travel is the ability to envision one’s future in home & family, education & career, community & service, and hobbies & recreation and create a plan for developing the skills needed to experience success in life’s destination points. For more information contact South Mountain High School (602-764-5000) or visit www.kidsathope.org
